"Hi, I'm Emma Staples and I welcome you to our site. I started The Therapy Space WA because I wanted to create a place where individuals and families could come and experience therapy in a friendly environment.... a space to feel empowered and confident. I have been an occupational therapist for many years and I have seen trends come and go but what never changes is the care and attention that I believe every client deserves, and the wonderful way in which we are all unique. We have unique qualities, strengths and interests, and I am here to help all my clients achieve success."

OUR CORE SERVICES

As one of the area’s most prominent resources for quality therapy, The Therapy Space WA offers a wide range of therapy and solutions for children as well as adults of all ages and abilities.  We work hard to offer top-of-the-line treatments that help our clients feel better while becoming more confident in their independence. We also focus on preventative strategies to ensure you stay better for longer.

PAEDIATRIC OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

We work with infants, children and adolescents of all abilities, who may be experiencing chronic or acute conditions with varying levels of complexity.  Our staff believe each child is unique and important, our programs are personalised to specific strengths, difficulties and established goals for your child and family.   Therapy is fun! It is implemented in an engaging and supportive manner effective in maximising abilities and participation in everyday activities.
Our paediatric services may be a combination of clinic-based or a mobile service tailored to meet the child’s own environmental specific goals within their school, community or home environment.

HAND AND UPPER LIMB THERAPY

Our director is an Accredited Hand Therapist as awarded by the Australian Hand Therapy Association. This comes with additional training and experience in hand and upper limb. We are passionate about the treatment of your condition and enabling you to have the knowledge, equipment and resources to return to your daily activities throughout your recovery from injury or management of a long-term condition.  If you have hand, wrist or upper limb pain, or have sustained an injury, why not let our experienced therapist Emma take a look for you.

COMPLEX CONDITIONS AND CHRONIC PAIN

We care about children, adolescents, and adults with complex health conditions being able to manage their health and well-being, to be able to enjoy their best quality of life everyday. Often when people come to us with chronic pain or a complex condition (such as co-existing injuries, or an injury that is preventing their return to work for several months), they can feel overwhelmed and unsure of how to move forward toward recovery. We are proud to offer a holistic service which encompasses the many aspects of managing a complex condition, such as providing functional assessments and reports, directly liaising with doctors and specialists, pain and fatigue management, assistance with emotional regulation, pacing, addressing any soft tissue complaints, and provision of aids when needed.

Each case is assessed to provide an individualised therapy plan, and we pride ourselves on guiding each patient through their therapy journey with compassion and understanding. Our end goal is to facilitate independence and empower our patients through their program, to engage in their work, hobbies, and self-care..
